About Sinan Pasha Mosque
The Sinan Pasha Mosque of 1615, Prizren's great domed mosque beside the river, with a minaret 43.5 metres high and an interior painted with flowers and verses.
Sofi Sinan Pasha, a native of Prizren and Ottoman official, built the mosque in the early 17th century; it was finished in 1615. Its single great dome, stone portico and slender minaret dominate the skyline of the old town.
Inside, the walls and dome are painted with floral patterns and Qur'an verses from several periods. Restored in 2007-2011, it is again a working mosque. Visit outside prayer times, remove your shoes and dress modestly.
