About Hammam of Gazi Mehmed Pasha
The Hammam of Gazi Mehmed Pasha, a 16th-century Ottoman double bathhouse crowned with a cluster of stone domes, partly restored and used for exhibitions and festival events.
Gazi Mehmed Pasha, an Ottoman governor, built the bath in the 1570s next to his mosque and school. It was a double bath, with separate sections for men and women, under two large domes and many small ones.
After decades of neglect it has been partly restored, and its rooms are opened for exhibitions and festival events. At other times you can see the domes from the street; the interior is not always open.
