About Imperial Spa (Císařské lázně)
The Imperial Spa in Karlovy Vary, a Neo-Renaissance bath house by Fellner and Helmer opened in 1895, restored and reopened in 2023 as a cultural centre with tours of its imperial bath.
Built from 1893 on the site of an old brewery by the Teplá, the spa opened in May 1895 and offered baths and treatments in the town's tradition. After treatments ended and years of decay, a full reconstruction from 2019 to 2023 turned it into a centre for concerts, films and exhibitions, with a new red concert hall in its atrium.
The building is open every day. Short guided tours lead to the imperial bathroom, and longer tours show more of the house; most are in Czech, with other languages on request, so book ahead. Some rooms may close for events.
