About Ksamil and its Islets
Ksamil, the beach village south of Saranda, inside Butrint National Park, with four small wooded islets in clear turquoise water, white sand coves and views of Corfu across the strait.
The village was built in 1966. The four islets offshore cover less than nine hectares, and the two outer ones are joined by a strip of sand. They are part of Butrint National Park, with seagrass meadows and dolphins in the waters around.
The islets are reached by boat or kayak. Beach rules and the share of free and private beach areas have changed recently, so check locally. Ksamil is very crowded in July and August; many services close after the season.
Did you know? The four islets of Ksamil cover less than nine hectares in all; the two outer ones are joined by a narrow strip of sand, and all lie in Butrint National Park.
