About Triesenberg

Triesenberg, the mountain village above Vaduz settled by Walser people around 1300, with a museum of Walser life, an old Walser house and wide views over the Rhine valley.

The Walser, German-speaking mountain farmers from the Valais region, settled these slopes around 1300 and are first recorded here in 1355. Their dialect is still spoken, the only Walser dialect in Liechtenstein.

The Walsermuseum shows their way of life, with an old Walser house of about 400 years nearby, visited on a guided tour. The museum is closed on Sundays except for groups. The village, about 10 minutes by road from Vaduz, looks over the whole Rhine valley.
