About St Florin's Cathedral

St Florin's Cathedral, the neo-Gothic church of Vaduz built in 1869-1873 by the Viennese architect Friedrich von Schmidt, seat of the Archbishop of Vaduz since 1997.

The church was built for the new parish of Vaduz, with most of the cost paid by Prince Johann II, and consecrated on 5 October 1873. In 1997 the Pope created the Archdiocese of Vaduz and made the parish church its cathedral.

It is a working church and entry is free; please respect services. Its organ was designed by the Vaduz-born composer Josef Gabriel Rheinberger. The princely crypt beside it opens to the public only on 1 November.
