About Liechtenstein PostMuseum
The Liechtenstein PostMuseum in the Engländerbau on the Städtle, a free museum of the principality's stamps since 1912, with original designs, printing plates and old postal equipment.
The museum was founded in 1930, when the collector Hermann E. Sieger gave the state his collection of Liechtenstein stamps. It shows the stamps issued since 1912, their designs and printing plates, and has belonged to the National Museum since 2006.
It is on the first floor of the Engländerbau and is open daily, with free entry. The souvenir passport stamp is not sold here but at the tourist office in the Liechtenstein Center, a few doors along.
Did you know? Liechtenstein's first own postage stamps appeared on 1 February 1912: three values showing Prince Johann II, designed by the Viennese artist Koloman Moser.
