About Malbun
Malbun, Liechtenstein's only ski resort, a small mountain village at about 1,600 metres in a high valley near the Austrian border, with hikes and a chairlift in summer.
Walser farmers once drove their cattle up to these summer pastures, and tourism began here in 1908. A tunnel opened in 1947 and the road has stayed open all year since 1959; the first lift came in 1962.
In winter, chairlifts and drag lifts serve the slopes. In summer one chairlift runs and trails climb to the surrounding peaks and huts. Lift seasons change each year; the high trails need fitness, boots and good weather.
