Sefton Park is a large Victorian public park in south Liverpool, opened in 1872 and covering about 235 acres. It was laid out following a design competition by the French landscape architect Edouard Andre with the local architect Lewis Hornblower, and is registered Grade I on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. Its features include a boating lake, an iron bridge of 1873, a Shaftesbury memorial fountain with a statue of Anteros unveiled in 1932, and a Grade II listed Peter Pan statue by Sir George Frampton.

The Palm House is a three-tier domed glasshouse that opened in 1896, funded by a 10,000 pound gift from the Liverpool millionaire Henry Yates Thompson and built by Mackenzie & Moncur of Edinburgh. Grade II* listed and ringed by statues of explorers and botanists, it was closed in the 1980s on safety grounds, partly reopened in 1993 and fully restored and reopened in 2001.
