About Church of St Mary Magdalene (kostel svaté Máří Magdalény)
The Church of St Mary Magdalene in Karlovy Vary, a Baroque church by Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer built from 1732 to 1736 on a small hill by the Hot Spring, with twin towers and an oval dome.
The church replaced a Gothic church on the same site. Its plan is an ellipse, with a curved front between two towers and a dome over the nave. Inside are a main altar with four white statues, a carved pulpit of 1751, and stained-glass windows of 1881 on the themes of water and wine.
The church is mainly open around its daily services and for concerts. Below it lies a crypt, which from October to April can be visited only by groups that book ahead.
