About Enipeas Gorge

The Enipeas gorge above Litochoro, a shady path of about ten kilometres into Mount Olympus, with wooden bridges, clear pools, waterfalls and the ruins of an old monastery.

The E4 path follows the river from Myloi in Litochoro to Prionia, about ten kilometres and five to seven hours, crossing the stream on wooden bridges. On the way are the cave of Saint Dionysios, the ruins of his monastery, founded in 1542, and the waterfall at Vythos.

Several bridges on the lower path have been damaged, so check the state of the trail before you go. A shorter walk from the monastery or from Prionia is possible by car. The water is very cold, and swimming is discouraged.
