About Waterfalls of Edessa
The waterfalls of Edessa, where the river Edessaios drops over a cliff at the edge of the town, with the Karanos fall of about 70 metres, a cave behind the water and a park of paths.
In a park at the edge of the Varosi district, a series of falls pours off the cliff towards the plain far below. The largest, Karanos, drops about 70 metres; a path leads behind its curtain of water to a small cave. The twin Lambda fall lies a short walk away.
The park is open to all, and the falls are lit at night. Paths are steep and wet near the water, so wear good shoes. The flow is strongest in winter and spring.
