About Main Tower
The Main Tower, a skyscraper of 200 metres in the banking district of Frankfurt, opened in 2000, with a public viewing platform high above the city and the towers of its skyline.
The tower, designed by the Hamburg architects Schweger + Partner, has 56 floors and is the Frankfurt seat of the state bank Helaba. Fast lifts take you up to the open platform near the top, at about 200 metres, with a view over the skyline, the river Main and the whole city.
The platform needs a ticket and a security check, and a visit lasts about 45 minutes. In strong wind or rain the open level may close, and the indoor level then opens at a lower price. Opening hours are shorter in winter.
Did you know? Frankfurt has more than forty buildings over a hundred metres tall, including twenty of the twenty-two skyscrapers in Germany, which is why it is sometimes called Mainhattan.
