About Keri Cliffs and Lighthouse
Cape Keri, the south-western tip of Zakynthos, with its white lighthouse high on steep limestone cliffs, the two Mizithres rocks in the sea below, and some of the finest sunsets on the island.
The lighthouse was first lit in 1925. It stands about 190 metres above the sea, at the south-western tip of the island. Below it rise the two white rocks called the Mizithres. Herodotus described a pitch spring nearby.
The lighthouse belongs to the Navy, and the tower cannot be visited. The cliffs and viewpoints around it are open. Stay away from the cliff edges. Boat trips from Keri port visit the sea caves below.
