About CR7 Museum

The museum of Cristiano Ronaldo, Funchal's most famous son, on the marina below his hotel, displaying his trophies, Golden Boots and Ballons d'Or, with a bronze statue outside.

The CR7 Museum, Museu CR7, is dedicated to the footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, who was born in Funchal in 1985. It first opened in 2013 and moved in 2016 to a larger space on Praça do Mar, on the Funchal marina, directly below the Pestana CR7 hotel that Ronaldo developed with the Pestana group. Outside stands a bronze statue of the player by the Madeiran sculptor Ricardo Velosa, its plaque naming him as born in Madeira and the best player in the world.

Inside, the museum gathers photographs, videos and interactive displays with more than a hundred individual and team trophies from his clubs and the Portugal national team, among them his Golden Boots and his Ballon d'Or awards. For football fans it is a pilgrimage, and for Madeira it is a point of pride: the island's airport is officially named after Ronaldo, and the square and hotel beside the museum carry his CR7 brand.
