About FICO Eataly World
The world's largest agri-food park celebrating Italian food culture, with live production facilities, restaurants, tastings, and educational experiences for all ages.
FICO Eataly World, Fabbrica Italiana Contadina, is a unique food theme park opened in 2017 on the outskirts of Bologna, at the edge of Europe's largest food production district. Covering 100,000 square metres, it is the world's largest agri-food park and a celebration of Italian food culture in its most comprehensive form. The park contains working farms (with cows, pigs, goats, and chickens), active food production facilities (pasta makers, cheese dairies, bread ovens, a salumificio), restaurants and food stalls, educational areas, and exhibition spaces. Visitors can watch Parmigiano-Reggiano being made, observe how mortadella is produced, see fresh pasta being rolled, and taste the results. The concept, pioneered by the Eataly group, is to make visible the entire Italian agri-food chain from seed to table. The park is particularly valuable for understanding the extraordinary food heritage of the Emilia-Romagna region.
Did you know? Within 100 km of Bologna lie the production zones for more protected-origin food products than any other area in Europe, including Parmigiano-Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, and Aceto Balsamico.
