About Triskel Arts Centre

An intimate arts venue housed in a converted church on Tobin Street, presenting visual art, film, music, and literary events in the shadow of Cork's oldest streets.

Triskel Arts Centre occupies a beautifully converted 18th-century church on Tobin Street, tucked into the heart of historic south Cork just steps from Elizabeth Fort and the Grand Parade. One of Cork's most beloved small arts venues, Triskel offers an eclectic and adventurous programme spanning contemporary visual art exhibitions, arthouse and independent cinema, classical and contemporary music concerts, poetry readings, and literary events. The building itself is part of the experience: a restored church interior, with its original gallery and high windows, provides an atmospheric and acoustically wonderful performance space. The centre takes its name from the triskelion, the ancient triple-spiral symbol found throughout Celtic art. The church's history has an intriguing connection to Nano Nagle, the great Cork philanthropist and founder of the Presentation Sisters, who was associated with this part of the city in the 18th century.

Did you know? Triskel takes its name from the triskelion, the ancient triple-spiral symbol found throughout Celtic art, prominently featured on the Newgrange entrance stone and the Book of Kells.
