About Titanic Belfast
The world's largest Titanic museum, built on the very slipways where the legendary ship was constructed, offering nine extraordinary galleries.
Titanic Belfast stands on the exact site where RMS Titanic was built and launched in 1911, in the heart of Belfast's regenerated Titanic Quarter. Opened on March 31st, 2012, exactly one century after the ship's completion, the stunning six-pointed building was designed by CivicArts and RMA Architects. Its angular aluminium-clad facade, resembling four ship bows, reflects the industrial heritage of the Harland & Wolff shipyard that once dominated this stretch of the River Lagan. Inside, nine themed galleries trace the story of Titanic from the industrial growth of early twentieth-century Belfast through to the ship's construction, launch, maiden voyage, tragic sinking, discovery of the wreck, and its enduring cultural legacy. The museum draws over 800,000 visitors annually and has been named the World's Leading Tourist Attraction at the World Travel Awards.
Did you know? Titanic Belfast was named the World's Leading Tourist Attraction at the World Travel Awards in 2016, beating landmark global rivals.
